Here are some resources I've compiled to support mental health for youth, caregivers and adults. I've included resources in Massachusetts as that's where I am located, though many states have similar programs.
Center for Disease Control and Prevention has pages specifically on Children’s Mental Health including child development, research, access to services.
Psychology Today is a website where you can search for therapists by expertise and location and you can refine your search or your specific needs in a provider.
Kids Health has a database of information for parents, children, teens and educators on a variety of mental health topics in addition to other physical health and development issues.
The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health offers information about a behavioral health helpline for parents of children and teens, as well as helpful information about mental health services in Massachusetts (see your own state’s website if outside of MA).
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) has information about what to do if you think a child is being abused or neglected, as well as information about the services DCF can provide in Mass.
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has a comprehensive library of resources about topics related to trauma: types of trauma, research about the impact of various types of trauma, treatment and most effective interventions etc.
The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has fact sheets on various topics, including mental health diagnosis, treatment, and medication.
NAMI: The National Alliance on Mental Illness has links to local resources, fact sheets, advocacy and more.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. Their website has information on services, resources, trainings and prevention.
Mass 211 has information about critical health and human services available in Massachusetts including government benefits and services, nonprofit organizations, support groups, volunteer opportunities, donation programs, and other local resources
